As part of our mission to stay the absolute best site for movie and TV fans on the Web, we spend our spare hours reading our user comments and dreaming up new features to help make the site easier, stronger and more fun. We think you'll like our latest batch of improvements.

Focus on Independent Film

Insightful filmmaker interviews, in-depth articles about Super 8 film stock, and other indie-flavored features make up our new Independent Film section. From production notes to discussion boards, there are plenty of new areas to explore.

Like Your Own Private Movie Database

Our new IMDb My Movies service combines the power of the Internet Movie Database with personalized lists of movies you create yourself. Keep track of your video collection, when favorite movies will be on TV or when your must-see flicks are due for release in theaters or on video.

You can use advanced IMDb search features on your IMDb My Movies lists to find things like which of your favorite films have quotes on file in the database. Or go through your list and find favorite films on which you haven't voted.

You can also keep private notes on all the movies in your list for your own personal reference. All the information you keep in your lists is your private business and is not viewed by IMDb staff or shared with advertisers.

Navigation Just Got Easier

To make it easier for IMDb users to find their way around the site, we've added a number of new features...

• Expanded Top of Page Navigation - You'll find that we've added another level to the top of the page all around the site, putting more information and fun stuff just a click away.

• Special Directories - To more quickly connect you to the best movies in the database and the latest films to hit theaters, we've added our Now Playing and Top Movies movies directories to make these films and film information that much easier to find.

More Fun and More News

We've added two new news sections to complement our daily Studio Briefing feed. Celebrity News brings you more personal news briefs about your favorite stars and their films every day, while Celebrity Articles & Interviews brings you two new in-depth pieces on your favorite stars every week.

In the Fun category, we've consolidated our former "Fun Features" and "Games & Contests" page into one section called Fun & Games. There you'll find the best from both previous sections, plus some new stuff like our new Random Movie Quote feature.

Although we rolled out this feature back in February, it's already become one of the most popular features in the IMDb. We're talking about our Photo Galleries. We're cataloging promo photos provided by studios and filmmakers, linking them to both the films they're from and the people in them, and we're adding more movies and more photos every week. We've got over 1000 photos from nearly 150 films, and we're working on getting more, not just from the latest releases, but from as many movies as we can.

Easier and Better Power-Searching

If you're a power-user of the IMDb and you're familiar with our "extended search," you're going to be B L O W N   A W A Y by the new look, new features and new name (we're calling it the Power Search now). If you want to be a power-user, the new design and layout makes it easier to use... It's just better all around.
