Own the rights?
It didn't surprise me to see the average user vote for this show on IMDb to be 2.1 because, let's be honest, it's not great.For one thing, it's reality TV; a genre that is always easy to scrutinise, especially when not done extremely well. It's 12 very British 20-somethings, all younger than Paris, competing to be Paris's 'British best friend' or 'BBF'. They all fight and bitch like there's no tomorrow, then suck up and act like the sweetest, most innocent person to walk this earth during their meeting with the big P. One contestant, or sometimes in a shock twist TWO, are booted out each week until we are left with one winner. Hooray! So yeah, not the most original set up, but what did you really expect? Honestly, this is a load of rubbish. But in a good way! It's target audience is not adults, more so late teens and twenties. And for that audience, it worked! I'm not the most girly girl in the world, nor am I even much of a PH fan, but I liked this show. No doubt, like what happened with the original U.S version of the show, Paris'll feel the need to get another BBF and we'll see series 2 sometime next year :) 7/10.
