"Survivors" close to death.

With a credible and established origin, based on a storyline by the late Terry Nation, this was a promising series from the BBC.

Having seen the trailer for the show I had hoped for an entertaining experience, reflecting the key principals of the original 1975 production but adapted to accommodate and reflect current issues and our way of life.

Although initially involving, it has quickly fallen into a contrived and predictable plot with little to differentiate it from its predecessor beyond poor acting by all involved.

The original 1975 production deserved to be re-aired - it was vastly superior to this trite, over-hyped contribution from the BBC.
