Merchandise swag: The Comedian's guns and dog tags prop replicas from Watchmen

All followers of Watchmen, the superhero epic new to DVD today, has their favourite character among the gang of crime-fighters. Whether that be grizzled vigilante Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley), suave smoothie Ozymandias (Matthew Goode) or feisty female Silk Spectre II (Malin Akerman) and for this week’s merchandise swag we’re doffing our metaphorical cap (or in Rorschach’s case, fedora) to one of the longest-serving costumed heroes, The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) with a fantastic replica of his guns and dog tags. And we’d like to emphasise the word replica – ain’t nothing to worry about here, kids. These are safe memorabilia, not functional firearms. Phew – glad we got that one sorted out.
Within the context of the film, the pair of guns is a gift to The Comedian from Us President Nixon and as such these replicas are accompanied by a medallion of certification from the disgraced former Commander-in-Chief.
