The first great One Piece game to ever hit the U.S. market., 22 March 2008
Author: emasterslake from United States

Taken place after the Post-Enies Lobby episodes. The Strawhat Pirates are sailing through the Grand Line. Luffy is fishing and got a bite, it was thought to be a fish. But turn out to be a mysterious orb. Which soon glowed and made an island rise from the ocean. Which came under the crew's ship, and right now they are stranded for the time being. The whole island contains different climates and sealed areas. Luffy is edger to explore what dangers lie ahead of his crew. As they explore the island, they learn it has a mysterious small guardian who is trying to prevent them from opening the island's seals. Which react to any being who goes near them. Luffy and everyone else doesn't know what the big deal is. But soon they'll learn that the island they're on has a certain sealed pathway that's not meant to open at all.

Those who dislike the 4Kids edit games, will be pleased to see that this game is the first one to not be edit by 4Kids. This is the Funimation's first time dubbing their own One Piece game. And they did a great job in it. Considering how it all featured outstanding voice acting, as well as a well translated plot for the English speaking version.

There are fewer edits than the ones done by 4Kids. Such as Marines are still called the Navy, Mihawk's crucifixes are altered, and the smoking character's use of smoking are omitted. Besides those small changes, the game remains truer than the previous releases.

A great thing about the game is, nothing is edited out. All the characters, as well the never before dub in English characters are included in the game. You even get to hear the new English voices given to the characters you seen from 4Kids, as well as the ones yet to be introduced in the future Funimation dubs of the series.

Contains several characters to play as in a special versus mode and survival mode. Which are guaranteed to be more fun than the previous 4Kids ones. You get to play more characters in Vs. mode and survival mode depending on how many bosses you defeat in the adventure mode. Adventure Mode requires a lot of item searching in order to open new paths. So in advance be sure to collect and make as many items as possible in order to proceed in the game.

Please note that this game was made one year ago in Japan. Which means it features a lot of things that weren't introduced in the English dub yet. As in characters that don't appear until the 2005 episodes. So keep in mind that a lot of the game may give you slight spoilers if you never watched any of the recent episodes straight from Japan.

If you been reading harsh reviews on this game from other gaming websites. Which a large number of them gave this game a really low rating and very negative reviews. Please ignore any of those such reviews. I can assure you that this game is worth buying more than the 4Kids edit games. If you are a fan of the series, then you'll be sure to enjoy this game.

Be sure to hear any news on a 2 parter sequel coming soon.
