In the UK, we are subjected to quite a lot of award shows, some of them are like this, associated with the TV, films or music awards and some are a little more worthwhile like charity cases and awarding people who have done good things to help people.

However when all is said and done, I honestly do believe that some people do deserve to be credited and noted for special achievements, however I do believe that these shows go the wrong way about it.

They are boring and constantly repetitive! Some special guest comes on to announce the award for a certain category, which really defeats the idea of having a main host for the show.

We see a group of nominees, usually any number of them from four to maybe eight, and then we have to watch a clip of them in action (yes that's right plagiarism!) for God knows how long and then we see them all in little boxes on the screen along with the guest, who says "And the winner is......", opens out the envelope and announces the name in there.

We see them all looking anxious and when the winner is announced, they all start looking at the winner and clapping, acting like they are always pleased or them when it should be obvious sometimes they are annoyed that they didn't win, come on, these people are human after all.

And even if anything were to kick off, we would not get to see it, because it would be cut. You would hear of it in the papers, but more than likely you would not be able to view it for yourself. What would be the point of that? That would be the best part! And so it goes on, act after act. I understand this is all to built suspense and make it more exciting, but I'm afraid everyone knows this bit inside out and it's getting totally boring now.

I think a major revamp is required, or better still scrap these shows completely. It has really come to a stage where these shows are really an orgy of self congratulation.

There are too many of them and half the winners are people or shows that I haven't even heard of. Surely if they were that good, an ordinary member of the public like myself would have heard of them.

These acts only win because a few people voted for them by various means, however this is not a true representation of the whole British TV viewing public and therefore the results are inaccurate anyway.

Very dry, very bad!
