Clark takes a less-than-normal journey than he may be used to taking in this interesting 12th episode of the season.
When Lex goes to Detroit to retrieve Kara, who is suffering from amnesia, a jealous co-employee of Kara's at a restaurant pulls the gun on Lex. Lex falls under extreme conditions, and goes into a coma. With options getting slim on being able to save him, Clark must revert to a technology created by Lionel that allows someone to interrogate a mind of anyone in a comatose state, a method put to practice on terrorists in the past. While not a guarantee to enter the mind and come back out, Clark takes the risk to save Lex but discover what he has been thinking, leading to dramatic and interesting situations within his mind.
There is a lot to like about this episode: the exploration of the psychi of someone who is already extremely mentally unstable, the situations that Clark faces within Lex's mind, and the conflict that Lionel faces when both of his "sons"- Lex and Clark- face a fatal situation late in the episode, a threat of fatality that only someone like Chloe could step in and stop. The storyline also serves to weave Kara back into the threads of this season, as Lex claims that he can help her regain her memory. What is his true ulterior motive? We all know he can't be trusted by what he says on the surface...
