Fun Stuff

Goofs:
Factual errors: Starbuck describes The Colony as being located in the accretion disk of a naked singularity. Naked singularities don't HAVE accretion disks; it's part of what makes them naked. A naked singularity is a theoretical kind of black hole (one which probably does not exist), wherein the rate of spin and the amount of charge on the collapsed star sufficiently counter the effects of gravitation so that not only is the volume of the star reduced to zero, but the radius of the outer event horizon is also reduced to zero. The result is a black hole with no net gravitational effect (unless one physically contacts it). No net gravitation means that no material is drawn to it - no accretion disk. more
Quotes:
Admiral William Adama: [addressing the crew and civilians on the hangar deck] No one should feel obligated to join this mission in any way. This is a decision I have made for myself. If it turns out that there are not enough personnel to crew Galactica, I will lead a Raptor assault with anyone who is willing to join me. Let there be no illusions; this is likely to be a one-way trip! So don't volunteer out of sentiment or emotion. There is a line running down this deck. Volunteers, move to the starboard side; Everyone else, to the port. Make your choice! more

If this episode wasn't the 2nd last, I wouldn't care too much about the "wasted" time spent on showing mostly inconsequential slice 'o life bits on Caprica before the holocaust. After all, it might be nice to show a little bit of back-story once and a while.

I thought the BSG creators could do no wrong up until about 8 episodes ago. Now I'm just trying to grasp at what's right (if it exists). I guess I'll eat my words if the very last episode makes what was seemingly stupid plot points and stupid motivations and pointless fluff scenes worthy of existing.

That bit at the end with the bunch of them on their way to rescue Hera was way too heavy handed.
