great and innovative detective movie

I was very impressed by this movie. A very interesting new take on the genre that is intelligent and very suspenseful. Told with care and attention to character development, the story skillfully enfolds its plot, surprising its viewers many times but without ever becoming implausible.

Essentially it is a very classical detective story but with an extremely unusual detective who must be either completely mad or a real genius. With such a protagonist, who may just be highly unreliable, we can never be sure as to whom to believe until the end. The showdown settles this question but comes up with another unexpected turn leaving us shocked, sad and in awe of the brain behind the movie. Technically the film is stunning, as well. The imagery is sophisticated and imaginative and first-class performances are as intriguing as is the soundtrack. Dialogue and action are continuously smart and often have some comic moments as well.

All in all it's a very good movie. Watch it!
