The acting is fine overall. I'm a little bit confused because i expected this movie to be more than just a movie about the disco music. I can't even say it is a comedy, as there is nothing much funny in it. Franck Dubosc does basically the same acting as in "Camping" (though less funny as i said) if you liked it you will enjoy this one (the idea of this movie came during the filming of "Camping" when Onteniente saw Dubosc dance). Emmanuelle Béart is great, you can see her dance with grace several times in the movie, i would say she forced my eyes to stay a bit focused on the screen and forget the disappointment for a while. I enjoyed Samuel Le Bihan's acting as well as a leader of the dockers on strike. Isabelle Nanty and François-Xavier Demaison have small roles so i won't comment on them. On the disco dancing, the dancing skills of the actors are good and we don't see too much dancing nor too few, it was fine for me.
To conclude, recent French super-productions have benefited from huge advertising campaigns ("Astérix aux Jeux Olympiques" in particular) and pretty much all of them were not that promising after all. It's time French directors realize in their money-minded head that having several famous leading actors does NOT balance the lack of story or entertainment. Obviously this movie was released now to make a little bit of cash before spending it at St Tropez this summer. As a positive ending i would say it may be the occasion for younger generations to (re)discover a music that left a trace in History.
