Mind-numbingly bad.
The awful acting starts with the kid and the maid at the beginning of the movie and goes downhill from there. The two actresses are supposed to look around and they've obviously been told not to look at the camera. So they do this serpentine "butterfly" glance as they try so hard not to look directly into the lens, but that actually makes it worse.
Also, look for the goof when the detective sets the flowers down on the grave in front of the headstone. Seconds later, he finds a piece of jewelry but the flowers are miraculously gone. He acts surprised/amazed at the jewelry ..... but I personally would have been much more flabbergasted that the flowers I had just put down had disappeared in front of my eyes!
