I've seen my share of bad horror movies, but this was different, it didn't give me any emotion, at all.
The film starts with Claudia (Martha Higareda) attempting suicide, then, in the hospital she tries again, so the doctor, played horribly by Fernando Lujan, sends her to a house that is like a mental hospital, anyway, there, the most disturbing part of the movie occurs, Danny Perea speak, that chick talks with such a deep voice, you swear she is a man. After that, the movie is full of failed attempts to make you jump out of your seat.
The acting is horrible, but you can't blame the girls, blame the lousy director and the terrible script. It's full of random dialogs that are there just to fit. There's nothing original or interesting about it, nothing. An example of the actual script:
Josefina (Danny Perea): Doctor Bernarda is a ve-eery good doctor, she even wrote a book.
Claudia: Yes, I know, I saw a lot of her lousy books in her office. How do you know so much? Do you have a lot of time here?
Josefina: No
Brilliant.
Also, there are a lot of random scenes -where you can appreciate the horrible editing- that don't give anything to the plot. It's full of inconsistencies, like: One of the girls owning a mastercard inside the mental hospital; or when a girl wakes up with scars on her inner thighs, then the doctors assume she is cutting herself with her pens, never mind about the broken mirror under the bed, she is using her pens, yes pens, because she doesn't have one pen, she has around twenty, and the funny thing is that her diary is mostly written and drawn with a pencil.
The only thing good about this film, is that you get to see almost all the hot chicks fully naked, which then again, is a mediocre attempt of the creators to make people watch it.
Mario Székely, a writer of the film, had been around the forums before the movie came out, he signed his posts with a cute: laaaater! Anyway he was defending a film nobody but him and the cast & crew have seen, and rambling about how they where since 2003 "living" in the film. When the film came out he disappeared of the face of IMDb. But he said something defending the mediocrity of his film, and Mexican cinema. That was that -according to statistics straight out of his arse- Hollywood makes about 500 movies a year, which 20 are OK, and only 5 excellent, the rest suck, Mexico makes 20 each year, so its learning. Never minding the fact than Mexico has made movies for about a hundred years now. Accordingly to him, Mexico has to make a lot of movies, so one of them, by accident, turns out to be good. What mister Székely didn't have in mind is that to make a good movie you need talent, not just a group of juniors playing to be filmmakers, but talent. How many bad movies has Tarantino made? Or Spielberg? Think about it Székely.
Don't watch this, don't give your money to mediocrity, if you're in love with Higareda or something like that, download the movie, rent it in a fake movie rental. Anything is better than giving your money away,
