Mystic Fate is by far the best season finale ever. And I mean for the entire PR series. We finally have a finale worthy to be compared with "Countdown to Destruction" from the Power Rangers In Space season finale from eight years ago. Now don't get me wrong, each season finale since then, and prior to, did have some impact emotionally on the viewers, but Mystic Fate somehow had a "satisfying" feeling; everything was completely wrapped up. Superb acting on every actor and actress, especially from Melanie Vallejo (Maddie, the Blue Ranger) in her "never give up" scene with Firass Dirani (Nick, the Red Ranger).
As with the goal of every PR season, there must be a moral to accompany each episode. And this series was no exception. That would be the work of Bruce Kalish and Jackie Marchand who have made it clear that they believe if people of different walks of life join together, they can accomplish great things.
After watching the original Japanese counterpart, which this episode was based off of, I did notice several similarities, but I was thoroughly pleased with the differences. I am also pleased with the decision the writers made as to retire Machiko Soga's famous character Rita Repulsa, the ever-popular sorceress who debuted with the PR Franchise back in 1993. Soga passed away in early 2006, but made a brief appearance to play the eternal monarch of good magic in the Japanese original, Magiranger. The producers of Power Rangers carried her storyline as Rita, who had reformed and become the Mystic Mother. And like her adversary Zordon, she now wanders the galaxy as good energy.
Truly a spectacular ending to a spectacular year. Well done RangerProductions!
