Interesting investigative thriller-horror that was poorly executed

I always feel a bit bad when i see a movie like this one that has good, smart, thought-provoking plot and there's every reason that it should evolve in an amazing movie but it just doesn't because of the poor execution and flawed acting. That literally and most definitely applies to 'Horsemen'. It's still far from being awful though, i still say it's worth watching but it held potential to become an inspiring classic and in the end it fell short by a country mile. Casting is also unpleasing for me, some familiar names and faces sure but their acting is flawed in this movie and others who aren't familiar did lousy job... But this movie's problems don't start and end with pretty poor and flawed acting, if only that was the case then it would be great, many things are ruined in poor directing of the movie. That promising plot is pretty much ruined in the second half as the story takes sloppy turns and twists that seemed very unrealistic and lame.

This movie reminded me very much of one of the best investigative thrillers ever made 'Se7en', that was only at start though with all the significant murders and dark atmosphere. Don't think that you will love this film as much (and if) you loved 'Se7en' though, just picture this: 2 cars are traveling on the same piece of road at the same speed, after 25 minutes first car speeds up and stays on the same road and the second car speeds up even more but it turns to different direction on a very bumpy road, the first car is 'Se7en' and the second is 'Horsemen'.
