This documentary gives great insight into the man that was Barry Goldwater. Liberal use of news footage and political ads give a great look at Goldwater the politician. However, the most interesting moments of the documentary come when Goldwater's personal life in examined through the use of personal family films made by Goldwater himself. I do find it a bit ironic, however, that Goldwater would probably not be embraced by the current incarnation of the Republican party - a party that he helped to bring back from the brink of self-destruction. Clearly, the party is in desperate need of someone like him today. And this is coming from a bleeding heart liberal!
