Trivia:
The dialog for the character played by 'Piyush Mishra' were written by the actor himself. moreGoofs:
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): During the scene where Abhishek is telling the story of him and Lara he mentions that she is a Pakistani and he met her in 1997 around the time when Princess Diana was in Paris, France. This was fifty years after an Independant India and Pakistan were created. In one scene with him Lara he says to himself "She will take revenge for the past 60 years" So he jumped ten years ahead. moreQuotes:

Yashraj films have gone a long way. The last time I saw a memorable movie from them was Veer-Zaara. Otherwise, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is the worst movie you will probably get from them. If you were disappointed by Dhoom 2, that was noteworthy compared to this. This is the weakest Yashraj film to date, and if Yashraj films does any worse, then they are not the strongest production team anymore.
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom has the worst screenplay. The movie spends too much time developing the characters in ways they shouldn't, but leave out important details. The first half is totally irrelevant to the entire second half. It could have been explained for thirty minutes and have a greater affect. The story was interesting, but poor execution. Plus the movie overdid the glamorousness and the movie was glossy, but pale. The dialogues were not bad, in fact I laughed in a couple of scenes, but the editing is so poor that they become boring.
The acting is certainly not bad as they say it is. Abhishek Bachchan shows his effort in the role, but poor screenplay makes it a forgettable performance. Preity Zinta played this character so many times, and lacks experimentation in her role despite doing a good job. She looked beautiful, but someone needs to change her costumes. When will costume designers realize that regular females do not dress up as call girls.
Bobby Deol overdid some of his scenes, and puts the most boring performance of the quad. Lara Dutta surprisingly turns out to be the best. I found her French role natural despite being a bit annoying, but her performance as the call girl was awesome. Plus she was dressed up as one which made her fit into the role. She also looks gorgeous in the movie and shows her potential. Amitabh Bachchan is random in the movie but also quite creepy in his last scene. He doesn't have role to speak of. The supporting cast is mediocre.
One reason why I was able to sit through the entire movie is because of the songs. Abhishek Bachchan is improving in his dance moves, but Lara Dutta is the star of dancing. Ticket to Hollywood is my favorite song danced in character by Bachchan and Dutta even though some of it is overdone. Kiss of Love is best choreographed but seemed out of place in the entire movie. The three Jhoom Barabar Jhoom numbers were mediocre in choreography, but still fun as the songs are catchy enough to get you in the mood of dancing. But the best song is Bol Na Halke Halke. Yes it is out of place, but the only part of the movie where you feel you are not part of a messed up world of tramps and goondas.
The movie is not worth watching. I regret my two hours. It is the most boring movie I have seen in a long time. Don't watch it. It is a waste of time.
