The Amityville Horror is one of those classic horror flicks that just should never have been remade. No, it doesn’t ruin the original per se, as it’s not literally Doing anything to it and you can just ignore the remake and watch the one you know and love all you want. However, it hurts the name as those who only see the remake will wrongfully consider that as The film. Its reputation is forever tainted by a remake that was nowhere near as good as it (personally, I Hated the 2005 remake).
However, did anyone think they would go back to the Amityville remake well again? If anything, I would have thought they’d just make a plain sequel to the 2005 film starring Ryan Reynolds. But that’s not the case: According to sources of our friends at Bloody-Disgusting, the Weinstein Company and Dimension Films are planning yet Another remake of The Amityville Horror, »

Nicolas Cage: Bad To The Bone
By
It’s an inevitable event in every accomplished artist’s life: if you go back on the timeline of their existence and stop in adolescence, almost all of our greatest actors, writers, filmmakers, musicians and painters went through tumultuous, tortured teenage years, often scorned, almost universally ridiculed by their peers and elders alike for the cardinal sin of being “weird.” Most people run from their inner nerd as they grow into adulthood, masking it behind toned muscle, fine clothing and the right haircut, struggling to be that cool guy or gal whom we knew had all the answers and the clearest skin back when such things started to be de rigeur in our lives (and if you live in Southern California, continue to be).
Nicolas Cage is that rare movie star who not only never seemed to care if he was cool, »

Everybody loves a good Easter Egg – both the kind you decorate, hide, then eat and the kind that artists, directors and musicians include in their various works of art for dedicated fans to find. Going way back to 2000 when the X-Men DVD came out, fans were treated to a brief introduction of Spider-Man in the special features section. That was just the first of many eggs to come.
When Iron Man came out, many sharp-eyed fans were quick to point out Captain America’s shield laying on Tony Stark’s work table; Ol’ Cap was then glimpsed frozen in an iceberg in a deleted opening scene from The Incredible Hulk. Just recently Michael Bay inserted a hidden video of himself talking about Unicron in the Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray; Bay even put a Terminator reference in TF2 with the words “T-1000” branded onto a destroyed robot’s arm. »

Edward Norton's new comic thriller, Leaves Of Grass, sees the actor taking a leaf out of Nicholas Cage's book and play twin-brothers-at-loggerheads, one an academic, the other a pothead with a molasses-thick Southern accent. The film played well at the Toronto Film Festival - Roger Ebert hailed it as the best to premiere there - and the new teaser trailer gives us the dope. Not to be confused with the Walt Whitman anthology, Leaves Of Grass brings together Harvard philosophy Bill Kincaid (Norton) with his slacker twin brother, Brady (ditto), a small-time Oklahoma drug dealer who lures him into his narcotic scheming by faking his death. From there, things get interesting as Bill tries to extricate from a situation that involves more than its fair share of psychotic rednecks, and the intriguing prospect of Richard Dreyfuss as a drugs baron.Leaves Of Grass also co-stars Susan Sarandon as the Kincaid's sharp-as-a-tack mom, »

I guess this is cool and all, but why does it feel really familiar? Should I have been getting flashes of The Lord of the Rings from a story set in the ancient world? Maybe I’m just worn out from these kinds of movies. I’ll certainly see the film and I’ll probably even like it... though I’d be happier if this was more like director Louis Leterrier’s first movie, Unleashed, than like Transporter 2, which was just preposterous, or like his The Incredible Hulk, which lost its way in the end. But I’m tired of seeing the same old stuff over and over and over again. Maybe I’m just exhausted cuz it’s Friday. Anyway: Sam Worthington is Perseus here, and between Terminator Salvation and Avatar and this, I’m certain he’s the new somebody. I’m not sure which somebody yet, »

The first trailer for Clash of the Titans, directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) has arrived on the scene. And boy is it engineered for a post-mtv generation. This looks like a CGI-fest through and through, and its flashy editing is all bulked up by the rock soundtrack its paired with.
In other words: this looks nothing like the original film. That’s not to say it will be bad though — all I want out of the film is a solid little bit of fun action, and I know that Sam Worthington can deliver. There’s also a brief glimpse or two at Liam Neeson’s Zeus, amongst the giant scorpions and stuff.
Check out the trailer below! Clash of the Titans will be released on March 26, 2010.

Clash of the Titans -- the 1981 Geek mythology fantasy starring Harry Hamlin, Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith, with memorable (if anachronistic) f/x from stop-motion animation master Ray Harryhausen -- boasts a pretty hefty fan following, especially among Gen Xers for whom the movie is a geek pop touchstone. Still, I think only Harryhausen zealots/purists believe that delightfully clunky block of retro-escapist cheese can't be improved upon-perhaps the rare sacred cow that genre fans think should be remade and rebooted. The new version, due in theaters March 26, is directed by Louis Leterrier (who's already proven himself adept at improving »

Warner Bros. has officially unleashed the first teaser trailer for their upcoming epic Clash of the Titans, which comes from The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier. It is a remake of the 1981 Desmond Davis film of the same name, which tells the story of Perseus (Sam Worthington), a great warrior on a quest to save Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos). But before he can do that, he will encounter all kinds of wild and dangerous creature. And that's the hook -- at least for me -- in this first trailer. There are some wicked cool creatures in this movie, some whose designs appear borrowed from the likes of Lord of the Rings or Pan's Labrynth, but that doesn't make them any less cool. As we saw with the first set of leaked posters, the art design in this film looks sharp. The rest of it is a bit unimpressive -- the rock soundtrack keeps things up beat, the »

After seeing some low-resolution photos of what looked to be some awesome one-sheets for Louis Leterrier’s upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans, combined with its stellar cast, I couldn’t be more excited to see Sam Worthington lay down the pain as Perseus against Medusa and the Kraken.
Based on Greek Mythology, the Warner Bros. production of Clash of the Titans is a remake of the classic 1981 film, well-known for its practical stop-motion effects. We’ve been waiting patiently to get a real good look at the film and that time has finally come.
So without further ado, here is the first official teaser trailer for Clash of the Titans:

The trailer for Clash of the Titans just dopped and now that I've reveled in some epic fantasy awesomeness from French director Louis Leterrier about five times I think it's time to bring some opinion into this piece.
First, thank god this looks better than The Incredible Hulk. Second, my god this makes Prince of Persia look like a silly kids flick. Is this first look at Clash of the Titan's a perfect win though? Not really. Fantasy should always have that sweeping, corn-gold classic score. Old fashioned? No way. It's up to the images to be modern, not the music. Riff-rock's just not my thing. Giant scorpions however? Total win. Brings back visions of stop-motion creature features which I love.
Synopsis:
A remake of the 1981 film version of the myth of Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. »

In a scant twelve years, Louis Leterrier has gone from being a production assistant on Alien: Resurrection to directing what has just, with a single trailer, become one of my most anticipated films of 2010: Warner Brothers' remake of Clash of the Titans. Sure, he has progressively proven himself a champion of the fantastic, evolving from The Transporter series to last year's The Incredible Hulk, but as much as I've been impressed by his eye for spectacle thus far, I wasn't ready for how fun his take on Titans looks. It's just our first look, but I couldn't stop smiling by the end of this teaser.
And yet, I don't know why I should be so surprised. The original is, after all, a landmark fantasy film packed with Ray Harryhausen's indelible stop-motion imagery. Add on Leterrier commanding a great cast ranging from Liam Neeson to Ralph Fiennes to Sam Worthington, »
