Fun Stuff

Trivia:
The hotel the characters return to numerous times, and where also the final showdown takes place, was in fact a completely roof-less set built on top of the Milkyway Image (the film's production company) building. Scenes taking place in the hotel were then filmed at night, resulting in an impressive ambient lighting. more

Very slick high tense action drama, 28 March 2007
8/10
Author: brucev13 from Netherlands

Johnny To succeeds in having an original perspective on the action/crime genre! He seems to be playing with his gangsters in his movies! The gangsters in this movie are on a mission to kill an ex member who was exiled! After a intense shootout they clean up the place, cook and eat dinner! As they were all friends once they offer "Wo" the exiled one a favor! He wants do a last job in order to provide enough income for his wife and baby! The way things play out is a bit abstract! Not much is said! But the way the main characters act around each other it is obvious that they share a bond! Of course matters don't go like they planned! The main characters including Anthony Wong are marvelous! They show emotion without having much of a expression! Also Simon Yam is wonderful as the bad guy! It is like second nature to him! If it weren't for these actors this movie wouldn't work! The pace of the movie on the whole is moderate! But when the action begins the pace is real fast! The action scenes are beautiful! They are stylish and intense! The finale is short but a real treat! Heroic bloodshed with a lot of blood.(Only this blood isn't fluid but some sort of red powder. Very nice effect! I suspect CGI,but I am not sure!) "Exiled" is an excellent crime drama with high tense action!
