Fade To Red (2006) is a brilliant work encompassed of many of Tori Amos's greatest music video hits, including "Caught a Lite Sneeze," "Silent All These Years," "Sleeps With Butterflies," and many more, including "A Sorta Fairytale," from her critically acclaimed album, Scarlet's Walk.

I have been a big fan for years and have followed Amos's brilliant career—her work has made her practically a rock legend, and along with Alanis Morissette and P.J. Harvey, she helped introduce the "angry rock chick vein" in the 1990s, and all three proved that they do have staying power and talent, and that their works are more than just chronicles of angst.

Amos's work has the distinction of maturing while still maintaining a raw voice; she is one of the most emotional vocalists I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, and her work includes influences from The Beatles and Janis Joplin due in part to her lyrics (many of them a mind trip on their own) and her role as a vocal gymnast, scoring heights and hitting many lows with her impressive vocal range which can sing a song of sweet love and redemption one second, and yowl the pain and sorrows of her own heart and all generations as she takes it upon herself to distance herself from each previous album once she releases a new one.

Her album Little Earthquakes is nowhere near as epic as Boys For Pele, and Boys For Pele is in a different vein in comparison to From The Choirgirl Hotel. Scarlet's Walk is a radical departure from her older, more "bleak" moods, and there is a hint of bubbly fun throughout the album. The Beekeeper is her most melodic, and American Doll Posse, her latest album is a masterpiece, encompassing the melodies of The Beekeeper with the rock of Little Earthquakes, Boys For Pele and From The Choirgirl Hotel.

The same innovation seen in her music is present in her videos; while "Silent All These Years" is a much more intimate piece, "Caught A Lite Sneeze" is much more elaborate, featuring fantastic camera angles in a dizzying backwards roller-coaster of motion that symbolizes the chaotic subject matter of the song. "A Sorta Fairytale" is not "sorta" but a pure fairytale in itself—a story of love filled with fantastic cinematography (capturing the seashore in all of its fantastic glory), it shows the love affair between Tori and her "lover" (brilliantly played by Oscar winner Adrien Brody) as they sprout from small states of being and become fully human, capable of experiencing more passion than the inconvenience of strutting on their limbs can allow.

Amos once again pulls off a spectacular piece of work—everything the woman touches is absolute gold.
