Trivia:
The "new" Xena kills less often than then "old" Xena, but still quite often. In this episode, in the first fight against the Romans, Xena kills one of them by slicing his gut. It is not 100% confirmed that falling into the flames is the end of the Deliverer, but since he is never seen again, it is most probable that Xena managed to kill him. The "new" Xena's body-count after this episode is 77. Also, this episode marks an irreversible turn for Gabrielle: she kills for the first time, stabbing Meridian. Gabrielle's body-count after this episode is 1. more
Goofs:
Anachronisms: Xena must have been a truly remarkable person for not only was she present at the Trojan war, as we have seen in a past episode, but she also had the honor of knowing Julius Caesar. Considering that the Trojan war is historically placed at about 1194 BC-1184 BC and the aforementioned historical figure from about 100 BC - 30 BC for Xena to have survived over 1000 years is utterly amazing! Talk about your well kept woman! more

I thought that this episode stood out because it cemented Renee O'Connors role in the show. This episode stands out for two reasons. #1 Xena's focus on getting even with Caesar and #2 It was the first time that Gabrielle would kill someone. The episode starts out with Ares testing out some new weapons that he made along with Discord appearing. Gabrielle liking a new person who Xena believes to be an ally to help her against Caesar in this episode but in reality is Dahak's deliverer who tricks Gabrielle into killing someone for the first time so she can become his sacrifice to bring Dahak the ultimate evil god into the world.
