Fun Stuff

Goofs:
Factual errors: At the point in the episode that Scully and Mulder are explaining "Pusher"'s background to another character they state that he follows a warrior code, which they call "Budo". In fact, Budo is a Japanese word referring to martial arts. The Japanese warrior code is called Bushido. more

Sequels are often strange and difficult things, but Kitsunegari proves that you can go back and although it won't be exactly the same, it'll be close. Diana Scarwid does a good job of a difficult role, the interview scene between her, Duchovny and Anderson is especially taut and gripping, it's difficult to say why, it just is. It's great to see Robert Wisden again and, although he does little more than lean against walls and eat energy bars, he is electrifying and his final scene is downbeat and gentle, as befits a character we were beginning to forgive. Vince Gilligan's script is tight and difficult to second guess, while Daniel Sackheim clearly realises that he's been handed a gem and just lets the story ebb and flow. Kitsunegari is like visiting a warmly remembered location for the second time: it's not quite as much fun, but it's not far off.
