Fun Stuff

Goofs:

Factual errors: Benjamin Horne shows several religious texts to his daughter, including "The Talmud", and states his intention to Audrey to read every one cover to cover. The Talmud is actually several dozen volumes long, and Ben appeared to be carrying merely a scholarly book discussing the Talmud. more

Quotes:

[first lines]
FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield: The short answer is, this is the work of the same ghoul who killed Laura. More fan mail: the letter 'O' under Maddy's ring fingernail. There were strands of fur clutched in her right hand.
Special Agent Dale Cooper: What kind of fur?
FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield: White fox. The strands were laced with formaldehyde. A dead animal, stuffed.
Sheriff Harry S. Truman: I'll make phone calls. Leland will know how to get ahold of Maddy's family.
Special Agent Dale Cooper: Harry, don't make any calls. I need 24 hours.
Sheriff Harry S. Truman: For what?
Special Agent Dale Cooper: To finish this.

Perhaps the best episode., 16 March 2009

The first time I watched the series, I was in awe. The second time I watched the series, I was going with the flow. The third time, I began to notice things. One notable thing I noticed is how my reaction to this episode has not changed. This may be because there is no dramatic tension that requires the viewer to not know anything, however, I think it is the combination of this, outstanding performances, and masterful writing. This is hands down the best episode, it does not need any of David Lynch's freaky stuff (which is always a treat however), its quality shines through by means of human emotion, which is always a treat to see in any form of art.
