I never saw Sports Night when it was on television, but watched the 3-DVD set as fast as I could. The characters are witty and deep; they make mistakes and have anxieties like real people, but with better teeth and hair and comebacks; they make us as viewers wish that they were our own circle of friends. This final episode gave a sense of precariousness, with the network being sold, but also of preciousness of the present and hope for the future. I will watch anything Aaron Sorkin wishes to write, and any production in which these excellent actors appear. This makes me want to see all of the West Wing in a marathon.
