Liz's grandmother comes into town and she is a very important person in her granddaughter's life. Liz opens up to her about a guy Max and the way she feels about him. Kyle still thinking of himself as Liz,s boyfriend complains about Max to his jock friends... and they beat Max up. Because of that Max is trying to stay away from Liz, but her grandmother suffers a stroke and she reaches her out-of-this-world Romeo out for comfort. Max can't resist seeing her suffer and he gives her the chance to say good-bye.

This romance is really fascinating, Max and Liz really do seem to present themselves with the qualities of some star-crossed lovers.

This episode is more about Max and Liz. She made the first move and breaks up with Kyle. Also, there is a fun part of Isabel to watch.
