Excellent first instalment of a solid two-parter, 22 March 2007

"Golden Triangle" is classic "Miami Vice". Starting with Crockett and Tubbs working undercover as hotel security, the opening is both gritty and amusing in equal measure.

When a poolside Crockett poses as a bespectacled, geeky visitor to Miami in order to ensnare a prostitute, the episode really comes alive. Robin Johnson is superb as the reluctant call girl who assists Crockett and Tubbs on their investigations into bad cops offering protection.

This is a really entertaining and event-filled episode. It's rich in atmosphere, has great performances and dialogue and looks superb. The episode reveals a little more about the enigmatic Castillo and ends on a tantalising "To be continued".

Dolly Parton's "Great Balls of Fire" is the icing on the cake.
