Phyllis Coates, who plays Ellen Lane in this episode, was television's first Lois Lane. She played Lois from 1952 to 1953 on "Adventures of Superman" (1952) starring George Reeves. She also appeared in the 1951 film Superman and the Mole-Men (1951), also starring George Reeves.
