Using the same time-mangling structure that produced Monday and Redrum for The X Files, Ten Thirteen somehow managed to avoid spiralling into oblivion with Kein Ausgang and produced an episode so Harsh Realm it avoids self-parody by a whisker. Cliff Bole shoots the whole thing with a sensitivity that somehow compliments the Rambo heroics and Steven Maeda clearly doesn't see the need for any cerebral head scratching, yeah, war is hell, but Harsh Realm is exempt. No preaching, no apologies. Scott and DB get on with jumping over things, saying lines they always wanted to say and getting paid for it. If you didn't like Harsh Realm, you'll hate Kein Ausgang.
