What an entertaining pilot for such a great and classic dramatic series from Aaron Spelling. In the tradition of "Dallas" and "Knots Landing", other American network's needed their own show, and so ABC released this onto our screens. At first, it seemed just a blatant rip-off of "Dallas", yes, I felt the same, but once you really watch it, it is anything but.

Sure there are some of the trademarks of "Dallas": *Two fighting families, the Carrington's and the Blaisdel's (basically the "Dynasty" version of "Dallas"'s the Ewing's and Barnes's), although after the second season, it really becomes all about the hyper-rich Colby's and the super-rich Carrington's.

*Not-so-well off girl marries into very well off family dynasty.

*Disputes from all sides in both families.

*Backstabbing, bitching, fighting and manipulation.

The list's are endless, but it all proves to be very entertaining. Give this series a go, you'll be hooked! Season 1 is on DVD right now from FOX.
