This was meant to be the second of a two part episode, and it was coupled with the "Five by Five" story. After seeing the prior Angel episode "Five By Five", I felt a little let down by this story, that was not written by Jim Kouf, who wrote and directed that prior episode. Eliza Dushku, was not called upon to bring out her tremendous and high volume dramatic acting skills in this one. She was breathtakingly subdued, throughout this episode.

On the positive side, this story shows Angel's philosophy of helping to save souls and that helping save souls is more important than anything else to Angel, including friendships, co-workers and former lovers.

I hope this is not a spoiler, but in the very end, and to many's surprise Angels work throughout these two episodes (Five by Five and Sanctuary) was not in vain. This created some good drama and interest.

I have watched this one about 4 or 5 times and still like the ending, despite knowing it so well.
