Trivia:

In one scene in the deserted street a billboard can be seen with a large Batman and Superman logo superimposed over each other, and the date "5-15-10". This is an in-joke at the expense of screenwriter Akiva Goldsman. Goldsman did script rewrites for a "Batman Versus Superman" project in 2002. This was just one of the countless attempts to revive the Superman franchise that culminated in the release of Superman Returns (2006).

Goofs:

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Robert Neville tells Anna that there were 6 billion people on Earth, 90 percent were killed by KV outright (5.4 billion) and that there was one percent immunity. From that he arrived at twelve million immune and 588 million dark seekers. However, if calculated from the 600 million remaining (the ten percent that did not die outright) one percent would be six million, not twelve million, leaving 594 million dark seekers, not 588 million. The numbers he arrives at would be correct with 2 percent immunity.

A really great performance by Wil Smith

The way that they created the look of Manhattan in this movie was just wonderful and Will Smith pulls off one of his best acting turns as Robert Neville. The way he has his days planned out and still attempting the research to find a cure for the virus is a key part to the development of both character and plot.

Samantha (Sam) plays a strong part in the movie and is a great companion, friend and protector figure for Smith. The way he holds conversations with Sam is very touching indeed and makes you really feel that Sam is integral part of his survival and sanity.

Just a great movie, and I will not offer any of the things that will give the ending away. I can watch this movie many more times as it is that interesting and each time, it seems to reveal something that I missed in the original viewing.
