Keaton carries the film

Hardcore NYC salesman Michael Keaton takes on new sidekick apprentice from the Midwest Brendan Fraser to sell some electronic product to businesses. Once Keaton meets Fraser's wife, she comes onto him, and "reawakens" some of the nice guy in Keaton. Meanwhile, Fraser is not making a single sale, until Keaton starts "giving" him solid leads, which Fraser keeps mucking up.

Some viewers may like the twist ending, but I felt a more conventional predictable ending would have been better; call me old-fashioned.

I hear this is the director's first picture; it shows because the atmosphere is rather thin, cold and unsatisfying; and the twist is rather ham-fisted and not quite satisfying, either (although it explains some things).

Without Keaton's bristling presence, this film would be a dog.
