Goofs:
Plot holes: The major plot line of the film is that Jackie is turning to pairs skating because she can no longer do a Triple Axel Jump. However the lack of a Triple Axel Jump would not harm a female singles skater's chances at winning since very few women actually include the jump in competition. more

The original The Cutting Edge has been a guilty pleasure for over a decade, so of course I had to see the sequel as well. I pretty much knew it would be an embarrassment from the start, and Going for the Gold certainly lived down to expectations.
I guess it would be watchable for really tolerant people (my mom enjoyed it) and it didn't quite manage to offend my cinematic sensibilities to the point where I'd start wishing plagues on every crew and cast member, but it's full of bad acting, REALLY bad dialogue, bad editing and just... ugh. It doesn't have half the charm that made the original movie a favourite among so many.
If you're craving some Cutting Edge goodness, just watch the original again.
