- In one scene, Prince Edward rides a bus through Times Square. In the background a large poster can be seen advertising the musical play "Wicked," which originally featured Idina Menzel, who plays Nancy in "Enchanted," in the starring role. Furthermore, Stephen Schwartz, who was the lyricist for "Enchanted," was both the composer and lyricist for "Wicked."
- The bus driver's hair is shaped like Mickey Mouse's ears, as well as the green pepper slices on the pizza Robert and Giselle are served at the Bella Notte restaurant.
- When Prince Edward searches Robert's building for Giselle, one of the doors he knocks on is for apartment 714, which is the area code for Orange County, where the original Disneyland park is located.
- In the scene where Prince Edward is standing on top of a moving bus, billboards for Hairspray (the Broadway Production) and Superman Returns (2006) are visible. James Marsden, who plays Prince Edward, stars in Superman Returns, and the movie, Hairspray (2007), based off the Broadway Production.
- When Giselle first appears in New York, we see a poster for the musical 'Wicked', which originally starred the actress/singer Idina Menzel, who plays Nancy in 'Enchanted'. Later in the film, when an item is sent flying into the large coca cola advert, to the left of it we see a poster for the musical 'Rent', which also originally starred Menzel.
- In the scene where Edward is on top of the bus, the people riding on tour buses next to him laughing and pointing at him weren't extras, but actual real tourists.
- Director Cameo: [Kevin Lima] as "Pip in New York".
- The actresses who provided the voices for three previous animated Disney princesses make appearances in the film: Jodi Benson (‘Ariel’ in The Little Mermaid (1989)), Paige O'Hara (‘Belle’ in Beauty and the Beast (1991)), and Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas (1995)). Also, Julie Andrews, who starred as the title character in Disney's live-action Mary Poppins (1964), provides her voice here as the Narrator.
- Cathleen Trigg's character's name is Mary Ilene Caselotti. This is a tribute to Mary Costa, the voice of Disney's Sleeping Beauty (1959), Ilene Woods, who did the voice of Disney's Cinderella (1950), and Adriana Caselotti, the voice of Disney's first princess, Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
- The law firm where Robert works is Churchill, Harline and Smith, the surnames of the songwriters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
- This is the second Disney film to switch aspect ratios, the first being Brother Bear (2003). Like 'Brother Bear', the film starts in a 1.75:1 aspect ratio when in animated Andalasia, and then switches to the CinemaScope ratio of 2.35:1 when Giselle becomes a live-action character.
- Release prints were delivered to theaters with the fake title 'Radio'.

- One of the elderly men dancers appeared in Mary Poppins (1964) as a chimney sweep.
- Edmund Lyndeck, who plays the derelict old man, has a fairy tale connection. He played Cinderella's Father in the original cast of ‘Into the Woods’ on Broadway.
- Giselle was originally supposed to be blonde, but in time they figured that red hair worked better.
- The wedding dress that Giselle wore weighed 45 pounds. A stunt double taught Amy Adams how to move in the dress.
- 'Weird Al' Yankovic was considered to write the songs for the movie.
- Over 300 actresses auditioned for the role of Giselle. Amy Adams was number 275.
- The restaurant that Robert and Giselle eat at (Bella Notte) is named after a song in Lady and the Tramp (1955).
- A number of non-singers make their singing debuts in this film, including Patrick Dempsey. The only main character who does not sing is Nancy, played by actress Idina Menzel - who has two Tony award nominations and one win for Broadway musical singing roles.
- In the scene where Robert has to take Giselle to his work place, she is looking at the fish and the song "Part of your World" from The Little Mermaid (1989) is playing.
- When Prince Edward starts watching the TV in his hotel room, the first program has music that sounds almost exactly like the music from Beauty and the Beast (1991) because Paige O'Hara, who voiced Belle in the animated feature, plays the woman in the soap opera he's watching. When he changes the channel, we hear the music from a scene in Dumbo (1941).
- Idina Menzel plays Nancy Tremaine, slated to become Morgan's stepmother by marrying Robert. Lady Tremaine was the name of Cinderella (1950)'s stepmother in the original Walt Disney movie.

- During the scene in which Robert and Giselle take the elevator to his upstairs apartment, there is a brief moment where the camera zooms in on the elevator floor display, which bares a startling resemblance to the elevator floor display at the Tower of Terror Attraction in the Disney Theme parks. It even goes from floors 1 through 12.
- As Pip and Prince Edward blast through the enchanted wishing well out of Andalasia Pip exclaims, "Yes, but who is gonna rescue me?!". This is a reference to the refrain in the opening song, "The Journey," (sung by an inanimate bottle containing a plea for help) from Disney's classic 1977 animated film The Rescuers (1977), in which two rodents, Bernard and Miss Bianca, rescue a little orphan girl named Penny from en evil villainess.
- As an homage to Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) the writers and animators chose to give the evil hag the same appearance as the hag in the 1937 Disney classic.
- The film proved to be a commercial success, earning more than $340 million worldwide at the box office.

- The scene Kevin Lima found the most challenging to shoot was the musical number, That's How You Know, in Central Park. The five-minute scene took 17 days to finish due to the changing weather, which allowed only seven sunny days for the scene to be filmed. The filming was also hampered at times by Patrick Dempsey's fans.
- On the experience of wearing the wedding dress, Amy Adams described it as "grueling" since "the entire weight was on [her] hips, so occasionally it felt like [she] was in traction".
- According to director Kevin Lima, "thousands" of references are made to past and future works of Disney in Enchanted, which serve as both a parody of and a "giant love letter to Disney classics". As Lima worked with Bill Kelly, the writer, to inject Disney references to the plot, it became "an obsession"; he derived the name of every character as well as anything that needed a name from past Disney films to bring in more Disney references.
- Disney had originally planned to add Giselle to the Disney Princess line-up, as was shown at a 2007 Toy Fair where the Giselle doll was featured with packaging declaring her with Disney Princess status, but decided against it when they realized they would have to pay for life-long rights to Amy Adams' image.
- From the scene where Nathaniel masquerades as a Yellow Cab driver, Nathaniel's call-in helpline denotes a radio station on the frequency 1410 AM. 1410 is the same AM station of Radio Disney.
