Trivia:
Alyson Hannigan was pregnant while filming many season four episodes, but the show-runners were not interested in her character, Lily, also being shown as pregnant. Most episodes used time-honored TV tricks to hide Hannigan's pregnancy, including baggy tops and giant handbags, but the episode "The Possimpible" showed Hannigan's pregnancy bump in the context of a subplot in which Lily wins a hot dog-eating contest and has a comically distended stomach afterward. A similar visual gag was used in the sitcom "Titus" (2000) several years earlier. Actress Cynthia Watros was pregnant during the show's second season, although her character "Erin" was not meant to be pregnant. So, in addition to the "time-honored TV tricks" being used to hide Watros' pregnancy, a flashback scenario was used in one episode that showed her character Erin winning a pie-eating contest and her actual pregnant belly was shown after wards. moreGoofs:
Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In Single Stamina (2.10), Lily and Marshall are married at Barney's brother's wedding, as evidenced by the rings on her finger, and Marshall's reference to her as his wife. At the scene, Ted and Robin dance, which indicates that they might be still together, even though during Something Blue (2.22), in which Marshall and Lily get married, Ted and Robin are broken up. However, the fact that Ted and Robin are not tired at the wedding (having Single Stamina) while Marshall and Lily are tired (having Couple's Coma) indicates that they are broken up, just on good enough terms to dance with each other. moreQuotes:
Marshall: I think we're going to wait on the baby thing. I mean I love babies. Babies rule. Pudgy arms and stuff. But, uh, they make you old. Kinda like this anchor weighing you down to one spot... forever.Claire: I'm three months pregnant.
Marshall: [surprised] Not awkward, guys. Not awkward if we don't let it be awkward.
[nervously smiles, then walks away]

I love this show!! It's one of the best sitcoms on the air and one of the best CBS shows!!! I disagree with the other comment - Barney is the best character. He's the funniest person on the show. I love how the entire ensemble has chemistry together!! It actually feels like they're friends in real life. And I don't think they need new writers, they just need to grow a little more. This show gets better with time. I laugh so hard with the show that my sides hurt every time I watch. I recommend this show to anyone that has a great sense of humor and wants to laugh until their sides hurt. I hope that this show has a long run on the air.
