I stand accused..., 3 January 2007
8/10
Author: sweepthelegjohnny-1 from United States

To be perfectly honest, I cannot even write this review without getting worked into a frenzy of anger. Well it's only my opinion, but for me it's very sad when such a beautiful movie becomes so undeservedly underrated. It reminds me of when we hear of a stray dog that shows up at the humane society with internal bleeding and a missing eye- we say that it's terrible, and then we turn away and forget about it until the next one shows up.

This film is about the search for identity; not just sexual identity but the search for a deeper self. Justin's parents were unable to cope with his search. He was a person they loved and accepted, but who turned out to be the most heinous of deviants as defined by their own prejudices and fears. They couldn't understand that when he was searching for "Virgin Vaginas," he was truly searching for himself.

As Justin becomes more of an outcast, his story reminds us of the day-walking Blade, but instead of vampirism, our protagonist is afflicted with voyeurism. Traditionally, vampirism represents a life given to sin, where vampires exist only as sensual creatures, dependent on flesh and blood for survival as they eternally shirk the light. If one substitutes "Hardcore Action" in the place of "flesh and blood," a striking parallel emerges.

Ultimately it is a simple film that was made with love and care about nature, but with a good hard helping of violence, redneck cannibals, and a giant robot. The toilet humor was over done, and the pissing in the shower scene was a little overboard and unnecessary, but the non-stop plot more than made up for it.

My only real complaint is with the marketing of the film - All the funny lines were in the T.V. commercial! I guess I wouldn't tell every adult to go out and watch it, but if you have kids, or just love internet pornography, then give this a shot.

(Also, it would have been gooder with Michael J. Fox in it).
