The slasher genre coming from America, it is culturally interesting to see its French vision: it is like a clash of civilization: every gimmick is here but shown in an different light: the strange house, the "candid" teens, the damned killer, the "Is-it you?" moment,...
The distinct flavor is moreover deeper as the french "clichés" are also in opposition between the boys from the hood and the rednecks in the country.
For sure, it isn't a social study but for everyone who thinks France is Tower Eiffel and cool life, the real life is also a new diverse generation expressing with Rap music and old, rusty, secluded farms!
Finally, it could have been a good movie except that 3 "sex" scenes are morally shocking! As they don't offer to the plot, they are totally useless and they damage greatly the movie! I am not prude or whatever else, but in those movies, shocking the audience with shocking sequences is the most easy and less interesting way! Usually, the less you see, the best it is.
One of the teens would confirm that!
