Lol: Ask A Ninja Reviews Ninja Assassin

7 hours ago | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

Ask a Ninja doesn't review movies, or at least not normally. But when a film like Ninja Assassin comes along, the Ninja becomes a movie critic. What did the Ninja think of James McTeigue's Ninja Assassin? Watch the video now embedded after the jump. Kinda reminds me of the last time Ask A Ninja went Hollywood and interviewed Will Ferrell and Jon Heder for Blades of Glory: Thanks to /film reader movieboy for the tip. »

Will Ferrell Is Hollywood's Most Overpaid Actor

19 November 2009 11:41 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Just five years ago, The Frat Pack brought back the R-rated comedy and were the kings of mainstream comedy. Movies like Old School, Anchorman, and Wedding Crashers killed at the box office, and the biggest cog in the machinewas SNL-alum Will Ferrell. Since then, the group kind of petered out, with Judd Apatow's gang taking the reins, and while Ferrell has continued to have big hits (both Step Brothers and Blades of Glory made more than $100 million), his price tag is not worth what it used to be. Forbes has printed a list of Hollywood's most overpaid actors, using a salary to returns ratio, and have determined that Ferrell tops the list, drawing only $3.29 for each dollar he was paid. His statistics were most harmed by the performance of both Semi-Pro and this past summer's Land of the Lost, neither of which earned more than $50 million. Second on »

Veteran's Day, 'Precious' And 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' In Today's Twitter-Wood

11 November 2009 3:00 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Veteran's Day brought no shortage of veteran appreciation today in Twitter-Wood, prompting thanks and memories from across the board, as well as a personal note from "Twilight" actor Gil Birmingham.

Meanwhile, Jason Schwartzman's on his way to the NYC debut of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which as a Wes Anderson follower, I am anxious to see myself this weekend. Another new release, "Precious," really got a hold of Tyrese Gibson, who said the film's been keeping him awake. Check out their thoughts along with pictures from Peter Facinelli and John Stamos and a Henry Winkler autograph to be jealous of after the jump. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 11, 2009.

20 Ways to Get Your "Arrested Development" Movie Fix*

5 November 2009 7:09 PM, PST | ifc.com | See recent IFC news »

*Until they actually make the movie

Forget Scientology or Heaven's Gate. Today, the biggest cult in our country may very well be the teeming masses anxiously awaiting the return of "Arrested Development." After years of rumors and dashed hopes, it seems the beloved TV show will finally, for real, this time, be reincarnated on the big screen.

But don't break out your Cornballers yet: the film isn't set to hit theaters until 2011. How will you last that long? While you can treasure your DVD collection of all three seasons (or, for that matter, catch re-airs on IFC), you'll probably want to vary things up in the year-plus before we get sweet relief. Off the top of your head, you might know to watch Michael Cera in "Juno," but where can you find Judy Greer in a role as crazy as Kitty Sanchez? Will Arnett as a man as bumbling and self-involved as Gob? »

Has Robert Rodriguez Abandoned 'The Jetsons' Film?

31 October 2009 9:40 PM, PDT | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

With a full roster of projects on his desk, including Machete, Predators and the fourth Spy Kids movie, Robert Rodriguez may not have time to work on The Jetsons live action movie that he's been promising for some while now.

According to a report over at Pajiba, Rodriguez has decided to abandon The Jetsons, leaving Warner Bros to seek a replacement.

Word is the studio is very happy with the script by John Altchulder and Dave Krinsky (Blades of Glory), but it has had a difficult time keeping the talent attached. The site reports that Jim Carrey was once offered the role of George Jetson, but turned it down.

Pajiba also claims that Warners is apparently now in negotiations with director Peter Segal (Get Smart) to develop The Jetsons. Despite the studio's happiness with the existing script, it will apparently be scrapped, though Warners is not ready to solicit new »

Score: Lame Jennifer Aniston pictures from the set of ‘The Baster’

10 October 2009 12:40 PM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

It’s not like we’re Looking for pics of Jennifer Aniston on the set of The Baster, we just happened to find them while looking for pics of Angelina Jolie kissing Megan Fox (Google searches, here I come!). In any case, PopSugar scored a slew of boring pics from Aniston’s current project and we have a few to show you.

From the same production house that has brought you Juno, The Baster will be directed by the Blades of Glory team of Will Speck and Josh Gordon. The story centers on an emotionally fragile man (Bateman) who switches the semen used in his best friends (Aniston) artificial insemination to his own.

The Baster, as you can clearly see, is currently in production in New York City. No specific date for its release has been announced but it’ll arrive in your local super multiplex sometime in 2010.

Aniston and Bateman Pick Up The Baster

6 February 2009 12:07 AM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

It's that  time when all those thirty-something actresses start hearing the peal of their biological alarm clock and then make a movie about it. Last year's Baby Mama proved a big success and now Jennifer Aniston has picked up the fertility-baton,signing up for The Baster, with Jennifer Lopez also announced for another artific-insem-com (hmm, that tag might not fly) .Arrested Development's Jason Bateman will play best friend to Aniston's broody character – an insecure neurotic who substitutes his own semen in place of donor sperm she procures from the fertility clinic, which then leads to a child he fathered. It's the second time in recent years, after Juno, that Bateman's been hanging around with a broody woman: let's hope his character doesn't get cold feet this time. The Baster will be directed by Blades Of Glory tag-team Will Speck and Josh Gordon, and is written by Allan Loeb who »
