A brilliant film

I usually complain about the pathetic state of the contemporary horror movies.But,there is a positive effect in there:the economic success of craps like Hide and Seek,White Noise and The Messengers allows the blossoming of a rich harvest of independent cinema maintained by distributors who always are in search of the following semi-success of ticket office, or of the following film director who will rescue the genre.It's difficult to find excellent independent horror films,so a big research for that movies must be done.Katie Bird *Certifiable Crazy Person is one of that brilliant films which is much better than commercial horror craps and also better than the 95% of independent films made for DVD.The story may sound simple but I have to say that it's complex on its tone and message.Thanks to Seven and The Silence of the Lambs,the serial killer became on a typical cliché in Hollywood,so the genre lost a lot of credibility with pathetic movies like Twisted,The Bone Collector and Taking Lives.So,it's a pleasure for me to say that Katie Bird *Certifiable Crazy Person takes an original new focus on the serial killer subject.The actors are unknown but they bring extraordinary performances.The movie uses the split-screen method but that's not a forced trick.That effect helps to show us the sick mind of the main character.Katie Bird is not a movie for everyone(it can easily disturb sensitive people) but it's a fascinating experiment that I recommend,not only to the aficionados of horror movies,but also to the aficionados of the good cinema.Katie Bird is a spectacular film that is sadly occult in the shadows.But I recommend you to look for it,unless you are a sensitive person.
