(Some Spoilers) Finally achieving the dream that he's been pursuing all his life world renowned cryptozoologist Dr. Pena, Glancario Esposito, captured alive, in the jungles of a unexplored Carribian island, the elusive and legendary Chupacabra, Mark Viniello. This after half of his expedition ended up being slaughtered by it.

Smuggled by Dr. Pena on-board the luxury cruise ship "Regent Queen" to ship back to the states two brainless crew members checking on the mysterious crate that the Chupacabra was in-cased in unwittingly let it loose, where in ended up killing both of them. On the loose below deck the Chupacabra goes on a killing rampage turning the elegant ocean liner into a bloody slaughter house. Spearing no one man woman child or animal in it's wake.

The embittered captain of the ship in question the "Regent Queen" Capt. Randolpp, John Rhys-Davies,does his best to keep the lid on the murderous Chupacabara's actions below deck but it's all in vain as the monster breaks into the cabin section of the ship. The Chupacabara goes slashing and slicing everyone it runs into which has the poor ship commander has to reluctantly call the US Navy for help.

Coming aboard the elite Navy Seals are as much as a match for the Chupacabra as the "Regents Queens" crew members were. The killer Chupacabra takes them apart in a number of gruesome encounters with bullets having absolutely no effect on it. Only Capt. Randolpp's pretty young daughter Jenny (Chelan Simmons), who also happened to be the cruise ships aerobics instructor, had any luck dealing with the "thing" by giving it a number of kicks and punches to the head and mid-section.

Out of ammunition the Navy Seals finally realize that bullets can't stop the deadly Chupacabra and start to use armor-piercing shells on it which do penetrate it's hide and cause it to bleed green florescent blood, that only makes it that much more madder and vicious in return. With nothing that they can to do to stop this thing after using, as a last resort, steam and electricity the remaining crew and Navy Seals abandon the badly damaged and leaking boat with the wounded but very much alive Chupacabra, not the captain, going down with the ship.

Actor John Rhys-Davies looked like he was desperately trying to keep a straight face during the entire film. In the very last scene he just couldn't hold it in anymore and just had to say what was on his mind about what he'll do when the movie is over.

Glancario Esposito as the mad cryptozoologist Dr. Pena really took his role seriously. Pena meant what he said when he told the Captain and all those on the ship that the Chupacabra was more important that all their lives, even his own, put together. True to his word Pena ended up with his throat ripped out by his precious and darling Chupacabra as he tried to stop the Navy Seals from killing it.

The Chupacabra itself was brilliantly portrayed by actor Mark Viniello in what looked like a modified rubber jump-suit. It turned out that in the end Dr. Pena failed to prevent the demise of the object of his obsession with the Chupacabra not surviving the end of the movie. Giving the demise of the Chupacabra another look you begin to wonder if it really did died in the end? After all it's body was never found? Stay tuned to the possibly soon to be released "Chupacabra Part II".
