By "Dead Pre-Med" I mean that apparently the movie industry has now moved on from stupid "dead teen" movies to stupid "dead pre-med" movies, meaning that the stars are slightly older than teens and are either studying to be lawyers or in pre-med. Small matter though, because mostly those movies still suck, despite the fact that they're now featuring people in respectable positions as opposed to the usual "still in high school" types. This brings to mind another piece of similar junk I saw a few years ago called "Tequila Body Shots" and is one of those films that makes it appear that just everyone can pick up a big gun and know how to use it. Some little town in Mexico was the site of a big explosion many years ago, when the town was run by a greedy evil mayor, then fast forward to the 50's when some family was passing through on vacation (with dad Jeffrey Combs) and they ran afoul of the local ghouls, then let's jump 50 more years into the future where hip bi-racial couple arrives in town just in time to run into the parade and knock a woman out of her coffin who has just had her tongue cut out, and they of course run to the American sheriff (in Mexico) and of course he's in on the whole thing but the young couple go stay in the local hotel because their car is wrecked...and when they arrive the boyfriend (who is Caucasian) is told they don't have a room, but when the woman at the hotel learns that the girlfriend is Hispanic, she offers them a room in PERFECT English of course, no accent even, huh. So of course a call is put in to the boyfriend's bud and pretty soon they show up too, yet ANOTHER hip bi-racial couple and the boyfriend is of course, in pre-med. And then zombies walk and kill people. And of course, Mr. Pre-Med is one of the first to go. Anchor Bay should really stick to releasing old films that are in demand instead of churning out this low-hanging fruit stuff, meaning, not stuff that it's just easy to get the rights to and therefore flood the market. 4 out of 10.
