Okay, I'll admit I have an affinity for low budget horror/sci fi. So I'm biased. But when it's done bad, it's painful. As Robet Rodriguez, a lack of budget should let the creativity come out. The previews let you know what you're in for. All the movies advertised had lots of gore and the obligatory boob shot. And Alien Abduction fell into that category. The movie its self is fun. The acting isn't the greatest, but the production makes up for it. It's reminiscent of those old Black and White horror films like "The Mummy's Hand" (In fact, Alien Abduction probably would have been more effective black and white, but who'll rent that?) But what makes this stand out is the script. There's a great twist near the end that is really great. The characters are fun and the alien world is interesting. This is definitely better than most of the crap passing for horror these days. I was not disappointed.
