Saw this film at the Asian American Film Fest recently. It is a gem of a film which raises the issue of gender bias in Indian communities around the world, but does so in a very palatable, humorous way, without taking its characters too seriously. It was a fun film - a cross between Bend It Like Beckham and East is East. Shaheen Khan (Mrs. Dhaliwal) was adorable and the music was terrific. Hopefully it will get a decent theatrical run because there certainly is an audience for a movie such as this - sweet, charming and thought-provoking. Also, it seems the movie was shot in 16 days for budget of less than a million dollars!
