Those who can't get enough of Nicholas Sparks' stories should rejoice. His novel "Dear John" will hit the big screen next year, and a first trailer for the love drama debuted on the Web just recently. See below.

In the flick, Amanda Seyfried plays a young woman falling in love with a solider (Channing Tatum) while he’s on leave. When he's deployed, however, the two try to maintain their relationship via love letters.

Also starring is Richard Jenkins, who plays John's father. Jamie Linden, who penned "We Are Marshall," wrote the screenplay. Lasse Hallström ("The Hoax," "Casanova") directed the film. …

10 Most Underrated Young Actors

12 October 2009 7:54 PM, PDT | The Movie Fanatic | See recent The Movie Fanatic news »

Cinema is filled with multi-talented young actors who bring to life all types of characters. Sometimes, a role is given to the wrong guy - just because he has the looks (pin-up pretty, looks awesome wearing trunks) and the connection (a powerful talent agent at his side). But when the role is given to the right guy - moviegoers get to witness something unique, memorable and powerful, even magical. Anyway, even the 'right guy' needs an agent, of course...

- - - Underrated versus Overrated: If you've watched Jumper, then you'll notice the difference between Jamie Bell and Hayden Christensen - Bell has undeniable screen presence, I can't say the same with Hayden. It could have been different if Tom Sturridge was retained to play Hayden's part. Anyway, who am I to argue? Christensen has more box office appeal than the relatively unknown Sturridge, but acting-wise?

Sienna Miller thinks her G.I. Joe leather catsuit will "get the men!"

6 August 2009 4:36 AM, PDT | Boxwish.com | See recent BoxWish news »

Consider new action blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It’s got explosions, military gadgets and such cornball macho dialogue as “When I’m finished, this world will never forget!” It’s typical boy’s own stuff, and yet Sienna Miller, who stars in the flick as baddie The Baroness, still thinks fellas might need a little encouragement to go see it upon its cinematic release from tomorrow. And so keen to promote this, her first foray into summer blockbusters, she’s luring blokes with the promise of her dressed in a leather catsuit. Yes, that word was catsuit. Wake up boys, your dreams are about to come true…

Talking to The Daily Star, she opened up about the catsuit that is catching everyone’s attention, revealing: “It’s top-to-toe leather. I think that will get the men!” It certainly makes a change for the actress whose onscreen …

Vanity Fair's Hollywood ~ Episode 11 (2005)

26 May 2009 2:21 PM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Missed previous episodes? See: 1995 , 1996, 1997, 1998 , 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Vanity Fair briefly killed my enthusiasm for the "Hollywood project" when they nixed the traditional cover for 2009. But time heals most wounds and I have reanimated the project's corpse. 2004's cover had 13 already peaking actresses on it. How'd they follow it in 2005? With another batch of goddesses, 60% of whom had already graced their "Hollywood" cover. In the case of the C/Kates, it was now thrice. Was Vanity Fair running out of ideas? Given the idiosyncratic pool the covers regularly pulled from you'd think there were only 40 actresses in Hollywood... but then, it's probably all in who you know who represents you when it comes to face time here. It's definitely not only about the fame. Consider this: this cover series lasted from 1995 - 2008 and Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Michelle Williams and Tilda Swinton never appeared on them (just four chronologically appropriate examples off the …

Casanova Movie Review

26 April 2009 8:00 PM, PDT | MoviesOnline.ca | See recent MoviesOnline news »

"Casanova" starring Heath Ledger from a few years back is a pretty good movie for history and romantic buffs alike, but if you're looking for comedy (as was specified on the DVD box) then this film fails miserably. Oh I mean, the producers try their best to put comedy in it, but I think they were afraid to put so much comedy in it that it would of ruined the entire movie for the audience. I believe they were more interested in keeping the historical aspect intact instead of making it something that Mel Brook's would make (nothing wrong with his films mind you either, but the producers I figu …

'Tudors' vixen comes to Fox

10 March 2009 11:11 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Head securely reattached, Natalie Dormer is heading back to the small screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dormer has landed the female lead in "Masterwork," a globetrotting drama from the "Prison Break" team. Dormer will play an MI5 agent (the trade paper helpfully clarifies "a female MI5 agent") who teams with an FBI agent ("a male FBI agent") to travel the world recovering artifacts.  Most familiar to American TV audiences as the bewitching Anne Boleyn from "The Tudors," Dormer's other credits include the features "Casanova" and "Flawless." In other casting news, Sara Rue has joined ABC's "Eastwick," playing the best friend …

We Can't Wait #8 The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

16 February 2009 6:41 AM, PST | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Directed by Terry Gilliam

Starring "Heath Ledger" (Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law), Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole

Synopsis Traveling theater players, led by the 1000 year-old Doctor Parnassus, put on shows that includes a mirror where audience members can pass through and explore their own imaginations.

Brought to You By Lionsgate

Expected Release Date June 6th

Fox: I put Heath Ledger's name in quotes not out of any disrespect, but because I don't know how much actual face time he's given in the film. Regardless, this film will arrive with the weight of Ledger's last everything on it. I think it's kind of poignant that the film involves people going through a glass mirror... darkly or otherwise. I wasn't so fond of The Dark Knight, or the thought that Ledger will be remembered as The Joker. I'm not trying to ignite another Tdk debate, I just …
