I gave this little movie 8 out of 10. I think I also gave the Shawshank Redemtion 8/10. Are they equal movies? Yes, in a way, hear me out.
DOA isn't meant to win awards. Isn't meant to have a very difficult plot or character development and it's not meant to have an emotional depth.
It's suppose to have some incredibly beautiful women fighting for 90mins in the least amount of clothing as possible. If you can't handle that idea, why are you watching DOA (and esp reading a review on IMDb) in the first place? Now, to that regard, the movie was excellent. Think about it for a second. Do you REALLY want plot, conversation etc in a perve / action movie, or do you want more fighting? This movie knows why people want to watch it and sets out to deliver.
Now some have mocked the fighting, but honestly, it wasn't that bad. Actually they did a very good job of making it look like the actual actors fighting for the most part (perhaps was?). This movie rated M in Australia, so it's watchable by everyone (recommended for 15+). The violence was at an appropriate level.
If you watch this film expecting plot and storyline and acting, you're the idiot, fool, moron or whatever else people have insulted this movie with.
It's a great film IF you see it as intended. It does what it sets out to do.
