A likable cast is wasted in the movie with a script that alternates between boring and histrionic. It plays like one of those bland TV movies from the '80s.
And it contains many stupid moments that make no sense. The continuity is terrible, with actors saying it's nighttime when the sun is streaming through the windows. Another example: It's day time and a kid runs out of classroom to commit suicide, and everyone just sits there doing nothing. Cut to: they're all frantically trying to stop him from killing himself but now it's night. Hello?!?! Plus he's threatening to kill himself by jumping off the roof off a two storey house! Unless he lands on top of a really sharp object, that ain't gonna kill him.
The emotional aspects of the film are just as silly.
If your movie is about high school that doesn't mean your script has to be at the level of high school writing. Sheesh.
Don't waste money renting this.
Oh, and the incredibly talented Kaley Cuoco is totally wasted in this movie. She's so funny and has a great screen presence, I wish someone would give her the appropriate starring vehicle. This sure ain't it. She could be the next Sandra Bullock with a good script and a director who knew what he was doing.
