A comic-book adaptation that doesn't involve a superhero.
Two fat slags (ugly, overweight, working-class, loud-mouthed women) travel to London to appear on a TV show.
Saturday afternoon in my local multiplex with only 6 other people in the cinema. This can't be right? Maybe this movie appeals to an older audience, who used to read Viz magazine, but don't go to the cinema anymore? Anyway, this movie is staggeringly bad. So bad it's actually good in a sense that it's completely different to anything else you'll see this year. Really should have been made 10 years earlier. Most scenes are ineptly handled and don't really work. They all seem to finish off with some "funny" gag that falls flat. Best scene was when our two heroes enter an expensive clothes shop (Naomi Campbell is the bewildered sales assistant). Another good scene was eating those disgusting Kebabs. Picture has many arty filtered shots that seem at odds with the rest of the movie.
Fat Slags is for fans of UFO, Rita Sue and Bob Too, and Guest House Paradiso.
