This show is addicting. It's got everything you could possibly want: good scripts; drama; adventure; comedy; top notch guest stars; eccentric characters; beautiful locations; and, great acting.
Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris are terrific together. The chemistry between them is wonderful. You can tell that they really like each other. It's obvious that they're friends on and off screen.
They really work well together sleuthing and gardening. They always manage to land on their feet even though they occasionally go off on the wrong track when trying to solve the crimes. They work well with the police and never seem to be told that they're butting in. Their opinions and theories are respected, most of the time.
In one episode, Laura (Pam Ferris) is not only on the trail of a killer she's on the trail of a scrumptious French pastry she'd eaten while on a school trip decades before. Her obsession with finding this pastry is a great comedic subplot to the actual story. They're on the French Riviera trying to restore a garden and solve a murder, and she's questioning practically everyone she meets about these pastries. Priceless.
You've got to buy this series. It's worth every penny. I love it and I think you will too.
