• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When the deer are all grunting at Rachel and Aidan, the whistle of an elk can clearly be heard despite the fact there are no elk in the scene.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: When Rachel and Aidan pull up to their house near the beginning of the film, the camera lenses and hood cover are reflected in the lower left corner of the frame off of the car door as it pulls up to the curb.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: During the flashback where Evelyn is trying to drown baby Samara, the child is smiling happily though at the same time we hear her horrified crying.
  
  

• Continuity: When Rachel is laying Aidan/Samara into the tub at the end, in one shot, Aidan's mouth is open and in the next, it is completely closed.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: When Rachel is making the sandwiches and is about to put the drugs in Aidan's sandwich, the bottle is green but when she turns back from looking at Aiden the bottle is purple.
  
  
• Continuity: The deer smash the driver and passenger side windows of the car. In the subsequent scene, Rachel's reflection can be scene in her window (unbroken) as she turns to Aidan.
  
  
• Continuity: When Rachel and Aidan are on the couch she takes a bite of a sandwich. As she is taking the bite Aidan asks her a question. They cut to Rachel who answers the question but has no food in her mouth. After she answers she takes another bite and the sandwich appears to have not been bitten into yet.
  
  
• Continuity: As Rachel slams on the brakes to avoid a deer, the road markings change between shots.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: A camera operator's reflection is seen in the TV when the girl is about to place the video in the VCR at the beginning of the film.
  
  
• Continuity: When Rachel lays Aidan/Samara in the tub, in the wider shots the water is around his shoulders but in the close-ups it is past his ears and nearly covering his face.
  
  
• Continuity: While the detective walks in on Rachel sitting down around the small round table drinking coffee, her legs are repeatedly crossed/uncrossed between shots.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Rachel makes sandwiches for herself and Samara/Aidan, the camera focuses briefly on the bottle of pills. The name on the bottle clearly reads "...entura, Tony." There is no character named "Tony" in the film; however, the crew's property master is named Tony Bonaventura.
  
  
• Factual errors: When Rachel examines the face of the first victim, she approaches an ambulance labeled "Clatsop County Medical Examiner." Clatsop County does not have its own medical examiner. If a suspicious death occurs, the body would be sent to the state medical examiner. Ambulances in Clatsop County are labeled "Medix."
  
  
• Factual errors: Early on, we see a shot of The Daily Astorian office where Rachel works, and the Columbia River in the background. The real Daily Astorian office is located well off the waterfront. The building used is a medical supply company.
  
  
• Continuity: During the bathtub scene, Rachel is completely drenched after the water falls from the ceiling. Next shot, she peeks over the tub and her hair is barely wet and is apparently combed.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Samara is climbing out of the well in some shots her hair is touching the side of the well, indicating that the actor was crawling along a horizontal surface.
  
  
• Continuity: In the very beginning of the movie when Jake brings Emily over to watch the tape, she doesn't turn off the lights. When Jakes comes in yelling at her to play it, the T.V. gives light to the room, and you can tell the lights are off. When the well water comes into the kitchen, he runs into the living room and lights are on again.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: After the bathroom scene in which a huge amount of water falls from the ceiling, Max removes a dry towel from the towel rack and places it around the boy's shoulders.
  
  
• Continuity: In the ambulance scene where Rachel takes a look at Jake's dead body; after unzipping the bag, we see Jake's terrified face faced right, towards Rachel but right after that where Rachel gasps his face is looking the opposite direction.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: In the first Ring movie, when Rachel watched the video, the eerie screeching begins when we see the finger going through the hammer-nail. But in the beginning of this movie, when Emily is supposedly watching the video, the screeching starts at a different time.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: The Israeli cover of the DVD release contain the names of two of the movie characters - Rachel and Aidan. While Rachel is listed as 'Naomi Watts', Aidan is listed as 'Aidan Keller', instead of his real name, David Dorfman.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: When Aidan sees Samara in the mirror, his mouth is closed, but when you see his reflection in the mirror, his mouth is open. This happens again and again until he starts taking pictures.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: After she has taken Aidan to the hospital, Rachel shows Max the photographs that Aidan took of Samara in the public restroom. As he is looking at the camera, a crew member is visible through the window behind Max and to his left.
  
  
• Continuity: When Aidan picks up the camera in the bathroom to take a picture the flash is up in the reflection, but when he starts taking the pictures a second later the flash is down and pops up when he starts taking the pictures.
  
  
• Continuity: When Aidan first enters the bathtub, his shorts are grey. When he exits the bathtub, his shorts are blue.
  
  
• Continuity: At the Morgan house, Savide (the Realtor) mentions that the furniture is being stored in the basement. Then, Rachel goes to the basement, opens the doors, and, the entryway is covered with cobwebs. If the Realtor had moved the furniture into the basement, the cobwebs would have been swept away.
  
  
• Continuity: Rachel says that she and Aidan made only one copy of the tape. This is incorrect, because she made one herself along with helping Aidan create one to save his life as well.
  
  

• Continuity: SPOILER: After Aiden/Samara forces Dr. Emma Temple to kill herself, her arms are limp over the sides of the chair. In the next shot, her hands are placed on her lap.
  
  
• Continuity: SPOILER: When Rachel finds Max in the truck, his mouth is gaping open and disfigured. When she closes the truck door, Max's mouth looks normal, not agape.
