Trivia:
In an August 2007 interview, Matthew Vaughn elaborated on his reasons for leaving the production. Vaughn cited a huge amount of studio pressure to finish the film in a very short amount of time, a script he felt was flawed and a large amount of studio interference. Determined to make a film on par with X2 (2003), which he realized he could not do under the circumstances, Vaughn opted to leave the production after only a few weeks time. Though he was only with the production for a short time, the director notes that several scenes he developed for the script, as well as the casting of Kelsey Grammer and Vinnie Jones, were all decisions he made during his tenure - a sign of the rushed schedule.

Goofs:
Factual errors: When Magneto raises the Golden Gate Bridge the towers are shown shattering as if constructed of concrete. The unpainted piers are concrete but the painted towers are in fact steel.

Quotes:
[first lines]
Eric Lensherr: I still don't know why *I'm* here. Couldn't you just make them say yes?
Prof. Charles Xavier: Yes, I could, but it's not my way. And I would expect you, of all people would understand my feelings about the misuse of power.
Eric Lensherr: Ah, "power corrupts" and all that. Yes, I know, Charles. When are you going to stop lecturing me?
Prof. Charles Xavier: When you start listening. And you're here because I need you.

The third X-Men film is more sophisticated and has a better story than the first one, and better action then the second. Here, the characters previously introduced but under used are utilized in a comprehensive and cohesive manner, and the newly introduced characters are blended in seamlessly with the story. The music is very good as is the acting. The cast-selection is still perfect.
Last Stand continues the work of X2 as genre-defining. It is a work of art/comic book pulp fiction never before seen on the silver screen. The . Everything in this movie is exceedingly better in the sequel then the first two films. Like X2, the acting is superb. The dialogue is rich. Every character feels believable. No cartoonish villains, every side of the issue is presented by people who believe they are the ones who are in the right and the underlying message of tolerance and bigotry only add to the depth of this film. What's better then its predecessor is X3's action, FX and pace. It restores the sense of epic adventure and grand-scale storytelling that's been absent from far too many of today's alleged blockbusters.
I can't imagine a better movie.
