This film had a huge affect on me. The cinematography, writing, and complexity of it really is like no other film. And even better; a seventeen-year-old filmmaker directed it! What affected me the most was the maturity and conceptual ideas that were put into it.
I first saw it at the Long Island Film Festival in 2005, where it won it's well deserved award for "Best Student Feature" but it's far from feeling like a student film. I read that it screened prior to the feature film "Garden State" at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Anyway; the images, range of complexity, and great film-noir look and feel is worth the watch and I highly recommend it. The acting is the only thing I found could have been better at times, but it was good enough to keep me captivated so I say bravo! I feel confident that we'll be seeing "Scallop Pond" or at least the director around sometime in the very near future!
